Biblical Significance • In the bible he is referred to as Satan • The name "Satan" comes from a Hebrew word signifying an adversary, an enemy, and an accuser. In God's word, we discover that Satan is God's enemy and is against all for which God stands
The story • There was a private meeting and Lucifer was not included. Lucifer became jealous. He set out on a campaign to prove that he was above Jesus. Lucifer began to be proud of his own glory and wisdom. Over time one third of the angels in heaven chose to side with Lucifer and to worship him instead of Jesus. Lucifer was thrown out of heaven, along with the angels who had chosen to follow him.

Strengths and weaknesses • Satan can only be at one place at a time. • Satan cannot see into our minds or foretell the future • Satan is real and active on earth • transforms himself into an angel of light • walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour
