  1. POTENTIAL PROBLEMANALYSIS SEPT 2010

  2. WHO’s RESPONSIBILITY TO PREDICT THE FUTURE? • Who Decide actions that are taken? • Looking at the future , which primarily an individual activity, it is guided by individual motivation and concerns FUTURE EVENTS AND CONSEQUENCES

  3. PPA and POA PA and DA • Process that enables us to : walk in the FUTUREsee what it may holdreturn to present action =NOW • Voluntary act of Prudence • Used less often, less thoroughly • Determination act for deliberating on imponderables and remote responsibilities • Process that are used for the needs to resolve immediate , visible concerns • Demanded by the events of the moments PPA+POA vsPA + DA

  4. PPA POA : QUESTIONS TO BE ASKED • State the action • Basic goals or end result from plan • List potential problems (or opportunities) • Future undesirables • Consider causes for the potential problem or opportunities) • Factors that could create anticipated deviation • What specific action and end result are we concerned about? • what might happen that was not planned? • What is likely to create the potential problem or O

  5. Take actions to address likely causes • Prevent or encourage • Prepare actions to reduce or enhance likely effects • Set triggers for contingent (or capitalizing) actions • Indicate problem/opportunity has occurred • What can be done to prevent or promote the likely cause • What will be done if the O happens • What will begin the contingent/capitalizing actions?

  6. In PA and DA : • one step leads inexorably to the next, orderly, thoroughly, logical conclusion • PPA is not merely search for trouble •  constructive method of identifying ways, to lessen the trouble that might occurs • POA • Deliberate methods to identify ways to properly concerned with the future DIFFERENT KIND OF PROCESS
