Security Past and Present • Until recent years the provision of securitywas mainly to protect members and staff from verbal and physical attack. • In February 2005 the Queensland Government introduced a Counter-Terrorism Strategy. Included in this strategy is the Queensland Plan for the Protection of Government Assets from Terrorism (GAP). • This plan calls for a framework of four separate guides to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from potential terrorism-related incidents.

Entry/Exit Points - General Security Plan • There are six pedestrian and five vehicle entry points to secure areas. • All can be accessed by electronic ID card holders. • Two are public entry points for access by non-active card holders after completing scanner search and registration. • Security access ID cards are divided into six categories (coloured). • Each category has differing access privileges in terms of hours of entry, entry points and access to internal areas.
