LINE • The element of art that is a continuous mark made on some surface by a moving point.
COLOR • Is what the eye sees as reflected off of an object • Hue – name of the color • Value – lightness or darkness of a hue • Intensity – brightness or dullness of a hue (Warm colors, cool colors, primary, secondary, tertiary, complimentary, etc.)
SHAPE • An art element that refers to an area clearly set off by one or more of the other elements. Organic Geometric
FORM • An object with three dimensions. (sphere, cube, cylinder, pyramid, etc.)
SPACE • An element of art that refers to the real or implied distance between, around, above, below, and within objects. (Positive and negative space) & (foreground middle ground and background)
TEXTURE • The element of art that refers to the way things feel, or look as though they might feel when touched.
VALUE • is illustrated by the reflected light and the cast shadow. Example: Value chart going from dark to light.
