Praise and Worship Lead Ministers – Correct Dynamics and Techniques. • Who is a praise and worship lead minister?: • Lead singer, takes charge - vocals and instrumentations • Leads praise and worship with enthusiasm and takes responsibility of the flow of worship and service • Draws people into the presence of God getting them ready to receive the Word • model a life of love, sensitivity to the holy Ghost, respect to authority and humility. • Passionate about God’s worship and encouraging others to worship
How To Be A Good Praise and Worship Leader: • Reference to God, live a prayerful and worship- full life • Good relationship with the Holy spirit • Plan for service before service day – Know the lyrics of the songs • Communicate well with Pastor and other leaders on songs plans • Be up to date with the popular songs the congregation can relate to • Start with known songs and introduce unknown ones last • Effective rehearsal with the whole Team including instrumentalists • Master the technical aspects before service starts – Keys, modulations, testing and changing microphones heights, batteries etc. • Do not talk too much, connect with the congregation and model worship • It is not a show time – remember it is about Jesus and not you.
Techniques of good ministrations • Shape of the mouth: mouth should be well opened with oval/ round shape, with a cheerful outlook. • Microphone use – minister and technical team. • Pronunciations • Singing and listening – self, choir team, instruments, conductor etc. • Good vocal control – know your vocal range, vocal exercises and trainings. Ad-lip, borderline singing • Sing all the time – use abdominal muscles and not neck muscles. Listen to and sing with professional ministers.
