About the Annual Reports and Benchmark Surveys • Annual Report is to be completed every year by State Council and Local Chapter leaders • Benchmark Survey is a biennial (every two year) study • Designed to provide state leaders with information so they can measure their organization against their peers • First undertaken in 2005 • Summaries of results are now posted in the State and Chapter Online Resource Center

Does your organization have a Membership Committee? From survey, we learn 3-in-4 do
How active is your organization in member recruitment? Nearly half of leaders describe their organization as being “very active” in member recruitment (up from 22% - 2008) 2009 / 2008 percentages are italicized 2006: NA 2005: NA
Increased focus has paid off … • Compared to 2008, State Councils seem to be more connected with goal of member recruitment • All-time high membership (39,391) reached at end of May 2011 • 13% increase over May 2008 (34,850 members)
Does your organization have an orientation program for new members? Relatively few (less than 1-in-3) have one –Is this an opportunity?
Does your organization utilize a point system to select General Assembly delegates? Most do – 84%
How does your organization reimburse for expenses? Two-in-three reimburse with receipts (trending down) Among the 15 that provided an answer, the most frequent per diem was $75 → (There was no officer vs. non-officer difference)
