From the HCT Library website, there are many functions that you can do yourself without help from library staff. For example, you can renew items, request items from other libraries, see what items you have checked out and save search terms for topics you are interested in.
From the HCT portal, click on Library. Then, FALCON Library Catalogue.
Or, bookmark this page: library.hct.ac.ae
Let’s look at My Library From Login/View My Record, you can see what you have borrowed.
Login with your staff or student number. Staff can use the short email name. You can use your regular password or create a different one.
You can see all the items you have checked out and when they are due back. You can renew by ticking the box and clicking Renew Selected.
You can change your PIN. If you forget your PIN, library staff can delete it. But, they cannot retrieve your old PIN because it is encrypted. You can also change your personal info.
You can also keep a record of items you have checked out. You can save your search terms and use them again; for example, you like the author Roberto Bolano and want to read new books by him.
To save your search terms for another day, click on the box “Save as a preferred search.”
