How to maintain your sewing machine perfectly! Maintaining your Sewing machines is not the easiest task, try using a machine that has not been serviced or looked after for a couple of ?o?ths a?d you’d k?o?. I? fact, e?en a minor damage to the machine can make it unusable. So, how do you go about making the most care about your machine? Here are a few simple tips you can follow to ensure you never have to worry about taking your machine for a repair! 1.If you love it, keep the right tools around: One of the first things you have to buy after buying your machine are the maintenance tools required. Here are the things you need, a screwdriver that can fits in to different sizes, a can of compressed air to clear dust from hidden tough spots, lubricating oil and cotton or soft cloth. You can get all of these
from the local hardware store. Choose a lubricating oil can too – quite useful when you are cleaning the tailoring machine. 2.Keep the throat plate clean always. First, remove the screws on the main front of the machine and then using the mini brush and a little oil, gently clean the entire plate. The discs of the plate and the bobbin case can be cleaned with the compressed air too to remove any extra thread that is present on the plate. Using the air can, remove any excess moisture that is on the plate. If there is any extra oil or moisture on it, it would keep pulling in extra thread and causing damage, so keep the plate dry always. 3.Keep the moisture away if you want to kill the rust. There is every chance of the rust forming on the interiors of the Sewing machine unless you clean it on a regular basis. Even the trace of rust can make the machine go slow and cause a lot of damage to the clothes you are stitching. 4.Keep a regular track of the maintenance: If you keep a regular count of the times you clean the silai machine, it would be easy for you to know just when a cleanup is required. Ideally, you should have it cleaned every 2 months. 5.Clean the accessories too and clean the pedal too: Each of the accessories needs to be cleaned along with the machine and in case you use a foot pedal, it is great to have that oiled well too. It would be easier to remove the face plate of the pedal and have the inside cleaned too. Summary: Instead of paying a lot of money at the service centre on a regular basis, it would be a great idea to get your machine cleaned yourself. It would save you a lot of money and is not very time consuming too. A regular clean up every few months would keep a trip to the service centre away and would keep your stitching machine perfectly in check. Next time you find your machine a little slow, get your screwdrivers out and get it cleaned in a jiffy.
