Why You Should Become An IMechE Fellow If you become an IMechE Fellow, then you will attain the recognition that you are a professional engineer who is working in a senior role with major autonomy and responsibility. It is the highest level of membership and shows your competency in the form of experience, commitment, and contribution to engineering. Why you should become an IMechE Fellow: You will have the following benefits by attaining the status of (FIMechE), which is given to a fellow:

Generally, A Fellow is a professional engineer who is working in a senior role with major autonomy and responsibility. The professional can show the following qualities: Essential: ·A position with senior responsibility or/and major autonomy in your particular field ·Ability to show leadership qualities ·Capability of influencing strategy and policy-making decisions in either a business or technical environment ·The promotion of engineering to your engineers and probable engineers ·A structured approach to CPD (Continuing Professional Development) explaining both how you have developed your CPD in your career to date and the way you plan your future CPD Desirable: ·Expert knowledge in a specific engineering area ·Engineering or technical resource management or/and personnel management and development Optional: ·Responsibility for a budget and the related risk ·Use of a major range of fundamental principles and complicated techniques across a broad and often unpredictable variety of contexts ·Active use and development of new technologies in engineering and related areas at the senior level

Start your application: You can apply to upgrade to IMechE membership as a Fellow if you are a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech), or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) member. Apart from that, you can apply directly to Fellowship, which requires you to fill in a more detailed application. If not registered as a CEng, EngTech, or IEng, then you need the following: If not already registered as an Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer or Engineering Technician, the authority will have to evaluate you against the competency requirements for one of these registration types as part of your application for Fellowship. Your application for Fellowship and registration will need to have: ·A completed Direct Fellow CEng or Direct Fellow IEng application form. Here, you have to show how you fulfill the competency and Fellow requirements. ·Supporting documents, like proof of qualifications. ·Signatures of two sponsors (on the application form.
