All Parents Welcome! Without Volunteers, successful program not possible

RHS Program Objectives • Maintain pride in the program and foster team spirit and continued joy for the game • Develop our student athletes with the confidence, pride, integrity, class, discipline, responsibility, & leadership that will help them to become not only better players, but also better people • Respectful and open communication with players and parents

RHS Program Objectives • Create an environment that fosters teamwork and builds chemistry at all levels • Attract players who are willing to work hard and contribute to a positive program culture • Ongoing improvement through player development from youth programs through high school • Competitive success at all levels • Have Fun • AS A COACHING STAFF WE STRIVE TO BE FAIR, BUT FAIR DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN EQUAL

  7. 9th grade, Sophomore, & JV Focus & Goals • Readying players for competition at the next level of play(speed of play/physical-intense nature of play) • Ensure athletes feel they are valued and key members of the program and its success • Competitive success and Consistency • Develop team chemistry and have fun • Players must put in the work and push themselves to be their best and maintain a positive attitude towards self and others

Varsity Focus & Goals • Enter the season in excellent physical shape • Build and maintain strong team chemistry • Be focused and stay focused • High intensity practices and game film review • Success is dependent on players working hard and playing hard ALL the time • Consistently finish in the top half of the South Suburban Conference • Maintain competitive edge • Earn Section Final/Strive for State Appearance • Have Fun

Summer Events & Conditioning • 4 v 4 League run by Coach Tompkins - Wednesday mornings 6/18-7/30 - Low key scrimmage format/meet other players • IRISH STAR(Female Athletes Only) - T-TH-F mornings 6/16-8/29 • CrossFit Templar where Coach Stramel works - June 12 – August 9 • RAAA Clinics - Players help run 1 hour coaching sessions for in- house female players in Grades K-6 • Tuesday 7/15 & Tuesday 7/22 from 5:00-8:00 PM

  10. Summer Events & Activities • Leprechaun Days Parade - July 19 (10:30 AM) • Alumni Game – July 19 (4:00 PM) • Car Wash Fundraiser – August 2 (Rain date 8/9) • Captain’s Practices – August 4-7 (8:30-10:30 AM) - RHS COACHES NOT INVOLVED AND TEAM PLACEMENT WILL NOT BE DETERMINED BY ATTENDANCE

  11. 2014 Tryouts • Tryouts begin Monday 8/11/2014 - All grades Day 1 8-11:30 AM & 4-5:30 PM - Day 1 meet in new student center - All grades Day 2 9:00-11:30 AM/All except 9th 4-5:30 PM - As teams selected after Day 2 AM, scheduleschange • Progressive Tryout Process • Goalies will be evaluated separately in addition to the large group evaluation • More specific information will be communicated via a Listserv announcement in July

Team Selection Criteria • The following criteria will be used for team selection: • Skill level • Tactical/strategic capabilities • Understanding of the game • Fitness/Speed • Drive/determination/attitude • Best players chosen regardless of age or grade for upper level teams • Scoring/ rating system will be used for team selection • Interaction with teammates & coaches • Position Needs • Physical and Mental Toughness • WE DO NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION SUMMER ACTIVITIES OR PLAY

Team Selections • Teams • Varsity- Any Grade • JV- Any Grade • Sophomore- Sophomores/Select Freshman • Freshman Blue and Green- Freshmen Only • Cuts at any age level ARE possible and a reality with the growth and improved talent levels in our program. • Movement within the program is possible, but should not be expected. • Team Announcements: Final Varsity- 8/16, JV-8/15, Sophomore-8/13, Freshman-8/12

  14. Player Expectations • Any comments, concerns, or questions should be addressed to the coaching staff first. Please do not address issues with coaches immediately before, during, or after a game. • Attendance at all team functions unless absence has been previously approved by coaches • Follow MSHSL and team rules at ALL times • Be ready and on time to practice, meetings, and matches • Maintain academic eligibility • Always show respect for coaches, opponents, & referees • Zero tolerance for negative use of social media outlets • Cell Phone Policy- • Home Games: Warm Up-Coach’s Dismissal • Away Games: Bus Ride-Coach’s Dismissal • Practice: Designated Start Time-Coach’s Dismissal

Parent Expectations • Support your daughter, but allow coaches to coach • Do not talk to coaches about playing time, position, strategy or other players • Parent concerns should be discussed and resolved face to face with their daughter present. Emails and telephone conversations should be avoided • Have realistic expectations of your daughter and set a positive example for them • Respect coaches, players, officials, other parents, etc.- NO EXCEPTIONS! • Volunteer

  17. Lettering Policy • A student/athlete may earn a Varsity letter if she: • Is a Senior who makes the Varsity Reserve team and has participated in our program for 3 seasons • Plays a minimum of 14 Varsity halves or 260 Varsity minutes • Sustains a soccer related injury which prohibits further competition, provided she continues to attend practices and games • Has not violated any rules set by the MSHSL or those policies set by our program • Must display good citizenship on and off the field. This includes having pride in your school, team, and self • Is a Varsity manager who has met pre-determined requirements • Special situations that cannot be handled by the above guidelines will be determined on a individual basis by the coaching staff

  18. Clover Club Award • Recognizes players who give 100% effort, 100% of the time during each game • After each game, coaches will select a player or players deserving of the award • Players will be presented with a certificate at their end of season banquet which will list all Clover Club Awards earned for the season • A player who is selected for 5 or more Clover Club awards during the season will receive special recognition and an additional award at their banquet

  19. 3D Patch/Letter Program • 3D stands for Dedication/Desire/Discipline • The purpose of the 3D program is to encourage our players to enrich their high school soccer experience by: • Becoming more active in program activities • Take advantage of opportunities to become better soccer players and better students of the game • Become more active members of the community • Requirements for receiving 3D patch/letter: • 1st year: DDD Soccer Ball patch and letter for jacket if 800 points earned or 450 points if player already has a letter • 2nd-4th year: DDD Bar if 450 points earned

  20. 3D Patch/Letter Program • Open to all 9th graders(including incoming 8th graders) through Seniors • Email completed form to Coach Adams as points earnedat rosemount1632@aol.com. Parent signature verification required. • All points go to zero the night of the each team’s banquet • No accumulation after 1 year • Forms can be found on website at irishgirlssoccer.com

  21. Requirements For Participation • Current physical on file at RHS • Registration form complete and RHS fee paid - Must be completed BEFORE practice begins • Fall sports packet will be mailed during summer • Registration begins August 1st - Online Option strongly recommended

Miscellaneous • Game schedules are posted on the website • www.irishgirlssoccer.com • Program T-shirt provided to player’s at no cost - Handed out at Leprechaun Day Parade • Additional spirit wear available for player’s/parents • All players must purchase their own home & away socks • Mandatory $35 uniform fee {includes sock purchase} This is due at time of uniform handout. • MotorCoach for 9 Blue to Esko

  23.
