Step 1- Identify what your enquiry is about • Your enquiry will be the following question... What was the impact of propaganda during World War II? • You need to find out... • Why propaganda was necessary • What propaganda was used • How successful this propaganda was
Step 2- Gathering information KEEP A RECORD OF EVERY BOOK, WEBSITE AND ARTICLE YOU RESEARCH • Pick an area to focus on • Start by finding out general information about your focus area • Then find more detailed sources which will help you make a reasoned judgement about the impact of propaganda
Step 3- Organising your notes • You will only be able to take in 2 sides of A4 notes and a plan on one side of A4 when you write up your controlled assessment • In the weeks leading up to the controlled assessment you can collect as much research as you like, but you will need to select the information you put onto your notes
Important information • Keep all research in your personal folder along with the record of websites, books and articles you have gathered research from • Keep that folder in the personal class box • Don’t take your folder away with you, although you are free to do additional research at home
How will I get the best marks possible? • By keeping your answer focused on the enquiry • By finding information from a variety of sources • By backing up your statements with selected information • By communicating information clearly, with good spelling, grammar and punctuation
