No Big Deal... • Thirty points out of 1000 total. • Ten points each part • Three easy parts
Three Parts • A. You extend other group’s code. Minor extension. • B. You discuss working with the other group • C. Some different group extends your project. You rate your own project, and also how it is to work with the group who extends your work.
Part A • You extend some other group’s code • What is your PLAN? • What is your DESIGN? • Who will IMPLEMENT the extension? • How will this be PRESENTED? • Worst case: “difficult client” does not respond. What is your contingency plan? (Just work with their web site and write a dummy application.)
Part B • Talk about working with the group, and the project that you extended. • Worst case: they did not respond. Discuss your contingency plan. • Bring something to show, either from their web site, and your guess at their application, or a “backup” group that you threw in. • Show the plan for what you did.
Part C • Rate your own project • Dsicuss working with the group that extended your project. • Rate the extension to your project and the organization of the group that extended your project. • Worst case: they did not respond. O.k., discuss your plan for contacting this difficult “consultant”
Bring four documents • Two copies: • Your rating of the project you extended • Your notes on these ratings. • Two copies: • Your rating of your own project, plus their extension of it • Your notes on these ratings
Look professional • Management, planning, design, implementation, testing, documentation, presentation, web if needed. • Have we seen this before?
Part C • Rate your own project • Dsicuss working with the group that extended your project. • Rate the extension to your project and the organization of the group that extended your project. • Worst case: they did not respond. O.k., discuss your plan for contacting this difficult “consultant”
