  2. Goals Participants in today’s webinar will: Gain knowledge about the online Carnegie Classification Community Have a clear idea of how to speak with members about the Community

Carnegie Community Classification The Carnegie Classification Community will offer members an opportunity to connect online with each other, as well as experienced practitioners and guest contributors, throughout the (re)classification process. The Carnegie Classification Community is a peer-to-peer, virtual learning communitythat will provide a forum to ask questions, discuss challenges, give suggestions and advice, and receive valuable support from colleagues across the Campus Compact network. The Community will give members a place to connect and receive help from each otheras they navigate the application process. Don’t Go Through It Alone!

Background • Developed as part of ongoing training and support for members seeking (re)classification • Conceived as a way to ensure access and quality • Provides a member-specific service • Engaged Campus workgroup support and throughout initial brainstorming and beta testing • Complementary to ERCC Peer Development Network and other state/regional trainings

FAQs • What is the purpose? • Campus Compact has developed and will administer an interactive, online learning community where members will share information, ask questions and learn from one another throughout the (re)application process for the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement. • What is it NOT? • Not meant to be content heavy. Participants will find that through other state and regional offerings. • What is the timeline? • Sept 5, 2013 – carnegieforum.compact.org goes LIVE for registrations • Rolling registration throughout the (re)classification process • April 15, 2014 – application due

FAQ ctd • Who are the primary moderators? • Dr. Ashley Farmer-Hansen, CSD at Buena Vista University • Dr. Elaine Ward, NERCHE scholar, faculty member at Merrimack College • Dr. Amanda Wittman • Who can join? • The Community will be open to individuals from Campus Compact member institutions.  • How many people from each member institution? • Unlimited number of individuals, but each will need to register to get log in and password • What is the cost? • Free for individuals from Campus Compact member institutions

Registration process What is the registration process? • Participants will register at carnegieforum.compact.org • Registrations will be checked for member status against the database • Once participants are approved they will receive an email with their account login and password.  If participants’ institutions are not in the database as members, they will be denied access. • Participants will need to register with their institutional email • How long will registration take? • 2 day response to confirm membership status and email log-in information • Log in process and getting started pdf will be emailed with confirmation
