AGENDA • Student Agendas are provided in the first week of school • Students will use agendas on a daily basis in an effort to stay organized and efficient • Every subject should have something written in the box even if there is no homework (None) • Please check your child’s agenda the first school day of the week to make sure they are staying organized. If you have questions about any assignment, check the online team calendar on our website • 6B Team Website

  6. Schedule for Academic Lab • Home Room Announcements • Team meetings and activities • Positive Behavior Intervention Systems-PBIS • Study Skills/Test Preparation • Silent Reading/Vocabulary Lessons • Pod meetings • Team building • NOT used as a daily study hall

  7. Lunch Money $$$$$$$$$ • Pay in the foyer after exploratory classes tonight to add money for your child’s lunches. • In order to avoid sending children to school with money, it can also be deposited in their account online. See the Kyrene website for details. • Your child needs to have his/her student number memorized before the first day of school.

  8. SCHEDULE CHANGES • Please be aware that your student’s schedule may change to balance classes as more students enroll and/or to increase academic success.

  9. YOUR HOMEWORK • Email the team with your contact information PLEASE USE YOUR STUDENT’S NAME AS THE SUBJECT LINE Email address: tmacke@kyrene.org • If you do not have internet access or a printer, it is important that you let your child’s academic lab teacher know ASAP so that we may provide hard copies of information for your family. Thank you!

Be on Time • Please note there is a strict tardy policy for students at Aprende • Make every effort to get your child to school on time • Students should be on campus when the first bell rings at 8:10 • First tardy is a warning • Second tardy is a parent contact • Third tardy is an After School Detention • Be prepared for continued detentions and conduct referrals in the event of continued tardiness • State law requires that ALL students attend school

  11. Invitation PTSO will be sponsoring a Meet and Greet breakfast for all of 6th grade during the first few weeks of school. Tuesday, August 13th from 7:45 to 8:10 Please join us for a continental breakfast and a chance to socialize with other 6th grade parents.

  12. Sports Physicals • Sports physicals will be available on Thursday, August 9th from 4:00-7:00 pm here at Aprende in our gym. • The cost for the physicals is $25.00. • Parents can sign up for an appointment and fill out forms at physico2go.com • Walk-ins will be welcome as time permits.

  13. Academic Lab Folders • Your student will bring home a purple Academic Lab folder on Monday • It will contain papers for your review and signatures • All paperwork is due by Friday August 9 • This folder should be in the student’s backpack all year
