Kaplan Test Prep Scholarship HOSA offers members the opportunity to apply for scholarships for Kaplan prep courses. However, you must fill out the survey on our website (also linked in the last HOSA email) in order for us to get the scholarships.
Membership Requirements • Membership Dues ($35 for the semester or $50 for the year, refundable upon completion of 3 BIG Fundraisers) • Attend 4 out of 6 meetings • Complete 15 Hours of HOSA Volunteer hours OR 12 hours and 6 outside hours/charity points • Complete 1 BIG Fundraiser and 2 Small Fundraisers • Attend 3 Social Events • ALL SIGN-UPS THROUGH WEBSITE

Donors Play • At each meeting, we will be testing a game app to raise money for competitions • Please text “txhosa” to 650-319-7142 and follow the prompts to download the app on your smart phone • If you plan to participate in competitions, you MUST complete Donors Play EVERY week along with 2 friends. (We can check this!)
Competitions! • Scholarships available for National Members ($500-$2000) • State will be March 27th – 29th in San Antonio • Nationals will be in Orlando, FL • MUST BE ACTIVE THIS SEMESTER TO PARTICIPATE • Study Social on Monday (10/28) in PCL 5.102B from 12-4 pm
Upcoming Events • Volunteering • 10/26 Intergenerational Day (sign up on your own, no carpool provided) • 10/26 Dittmar’s Halloween Spooktacular at 3 pm (Sign up CLOSED) • 11/09 Walk to Stop Diabetes at 7:30 am (Carpool at 6:30 am) • Social • 10/24 Karaoke Social TODAY! After the meeting we will be heading over to the Dobie Movie Room • If you dressed up today make sure to get checked off by Kiran for a social point • Fundraising • BIG: UT vs Kansas 11/2, UT vs Oklahoma State 11/16, and UT vs Texas Tech 11/28 • Small: Wednesdays 10/3, 11/06, 11/13, 11/20 (Each ½ hour shift counts for one credit) • Next Speaker • Dr. Chadwick Denman, DDS
HOSA Blood Drive • HOSA will be hosting a Blood Drive on Campus with the Texas Blood and Tissue Center on Wednesday, November 13th from 10 am – 3 pm • Easy way to get volunteering during the day between classes if you help out. Shifts are 1 hour each. • If you donate blood, you will receive 3 charity points • Great way to promote HOSA on campus so be enthusiastic during your shift!
