  2. WOD- Cell Theory Ascientific theory which describes the properties of cells • 1. All living organisms are composed of one or more cells • 2. The cell is the most basic unit of life. • 3. All cells arise from pre-existing, living cells.

Wednesday September 10, 2014 • WOD- • Prokaryote • any cellular organism that has no nucleus • ex. bacteria and blue-green algae. • Eukaryote •  a membrane-bound nucleus • ex. all life forms except bacteria, blue-green algae, and other primitive microorganisms. • Nucleus • a specialized, usually spherical mass of protoplasm encased in a double membrane, and found in most living eukaryotic cells, directing their growth, metabolism, and reproduction. 1st Major Test and 1st Journal Check, Friday
