  2. Where he was Born Jacob Lawrence was born in Atlantic City but he spent most of his time in Pennsylvania. His parents split up in 1922 so he went to live with his mom and siblings in New York,and settled in Harlem.

  3. Art work • Most of Jacob’s Art was mostly about African American. • The reason he painted mostly African American was because he liked learning about their culture. Jacob was a very hard working artist.

  4. His Teen Years • For more than 65 years, Jacob Lawrence was an astute observer and storyteller who focused on the struggle for freedom and justice in America.

  5. When He Died • Lawrence Died on June 9, 2000 at the age of eighty two.
