  4. USAWOA Background Information USAWOA and PERSCOM Warrant Officer Division enjoyed a very close working relationship with each other from 1972 to 2004. Prior to dissolution representatives attended our annual meetings and presented mutual professional development opportunities. When the WO Divisions was disbanded in 2004 the Corps lost the communication flow to the leadership of the Army. The result is the Corps is not being represented adequately nor properly considered whenever discussions are being made. Primarily because the Corps is such a small percentage of the Army (2%) they are very easily and unintentionally over looked. Branch integration in 2004 therefore resulted in the loss of the WO connectivity. United States Army Warrant Officers Association

  5. USAWOA Background Information (Con’t) Presently the best representative has been COL Mark Jones, Commandant of the WOCC. WO representation is not his duty and it is unlikely that all of those that follow him will do this for the Corps. WO Career College has been our primary conduit to the future best interest of the corps. The SWOAC in Sept 2009 has agreed to have an informal relationship with USAWOA. Since the elimination of the Warrant Officer Division in 2004 the Corps has had no one representing its best interest. United States Army Warrant Officers Association

  6. USAWOA Issues 1. Should the Army reform the WO division? 2. Should the Army appoint a CCWO of the Army similar to that of the RC and one that will represent the Corps as the SMA does? 3. How should “the voice” develop the information necessary to speak for the Corps? 4. Should a committee be formed to be the collection group for issues as they relate to the WO Corps, likened to the WOSAC (ARNG), the Senior Leader Warrant Officer Leaders (USAR) and the SWOAC (CSA) organizations and proponents?   12. USAWOA Conclusion or Recommendations Appoint a steering committee to pursue relationships between USAWOA and SWOAC/WOSAC/SLWC. No viable justification to re-establish WO Division. Pursue Chief Warrant Officer of the Army (CWOA). President Nisker present Group #2 members a coin, because we worked very hard and longer than any other group!! ;-) United States Army Warrant Officers Association
