KIDS AND CARS SAFETY ACT OF 2005 Add Technologies to Reduce Backover Deaths/Injuries(At least2 childrenare killed every week and another 48 are treated in hospital emergency rooms every week) To Prevent Vehicle Roll-Away, Require Brake-shift Interlock (BSI) to Function In All Key Positions Install Auto-Reverse Feature On All Power Windows to Prevent Window Strangulation(80% of all vehicles in Europealready have this feature) Driver Reminder System to Prevent Children From Being Left Alone in the Back Seat.(Between 30-40 Children Die in Hot Cars Every Year) Educate Consumers About Hazards To Children in Non-Traffic, Non-Crash Incidents Every Year, At Least 200 Young Children Are Killed and Nearly 10,000 Are Treated In Hospital Emergency Rooms Due To Non-Traffic, Non-Crash Incidents. Solutions Are Available, Cost-Effective, and Needed.
