  2. WHAT IS RAYON?

  3. Rayon is the oldest manufactured fiber, having been production since the 1880 in France. Rayon is a softly textured synthetic fiber with the appearance of silk or wool . It is a fine smooth material having an appearance similar to silk . Rayon is made from synthetic fibers

  4. Rayon is a manufactured regenerated cellulose fiber used in the production of clothing as cotton alternative. The rising cost of cotton makes rayon a suitable ,cheaper substitute.

Other properties of rayon • Rayon is called as an artificial silk because it is produced from naturally occurring polymers and it looks like silk, it is smooth like silk. • Rayon has a number of characteristics consumers and manufacturers find beneficial. Rayon is highly absorbent and easy to dye. In addition, rayon drapes well and is soft and comfortable to the touch. A well-known trade name for rayon is Modal. Rayon typically has an elevated luster quality giving it a brilliant gloss gaurav

Because it is produced from naturally occurring polymers, it is neither a truly synthetic fiber nor a natural fiber; it is a semi-synthetic or artificial fiber.
