  1. REVIEW What have we learned?

  2. REVIEW • I. The message in both the Old and New Testaments is REDEMPTION. God is concerned and working out his plan of redemption for lost sinners, on the field of human history. We saw God had predetermined in eternity, before his creation was made, how he would redeem man, the apex of his creation.

  3. REVIEW • II. WE LEARNED THAT GOD WAS: 1. ALL-KNOWING 2. ALMIGHTY 3. EVERYWHERE PRESENT 4. GOD IS ETERNAL 5. GOD IS SPIRIT

  4. REVIEW • III. WE LEARNED ABOUT THE ATRIBUTES OF GOD: 1. GOD IS HOLY 2. GOD IS MERCY 3. GOD IS LOVE 4. GOD IS TRUTH 5. GOD IS JUST

  5. REVIEW • IV. WE HAVE LEARNED THAT MAN DID INFACT FALL, BY SINNING. 1. WE LEARNED THAT SIN WAS FALLING SHORT, OR MISSING THE MARK. 2. SIN SEPERATED US FROM A HOLY GOD, AND WE ARE POWERLESS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

  6. REVIEW • V. WE LEARNED MAN’S AWFUL NEED WAS FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. 1.WE ALL ARE UNDONE BY SIN, AND OUR LACK OF RIGHTEOUNESS SEPERATES YOU AND I FROM OUR GOD. 2.OUR NEED IS FOR A RIGHTEOUSNESS WE CAN NOT EARN. IT IS NOT A SELF RIGHTEOUNESS, BUT THE HOLY RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD THAT WE NEEDED.

  7. Review • VI. Our need is for PROPITIATION. Jesus provided the satisfaction for Gods wrath. God’s Holy nature demands Holiness, and sin violates his Holiness. God’s Justice demands wrath be poured out. “The soul that sins must die.” Jesus bore the wrath of God and paid the price for sin. The blood of Jesus acted as the covering for our sins, better than that which the priest would sprinkle yearly.

  8. Review • The high priest would enter the Holy of Holies once a year, with the blood of lambs or bulls. He would cover the mercy seat with the blood, to atone for the sins of the people. In like manner Jesus blood, shed on the cross covers our sins. God looks at us and sees the blood of the Lamb, not our sins. We are all blood bought sinners. Thank God!

  9. REVIEW • VII. Our need is for REDEMPTION, we are all lost in sin, and can do nothing about it. Our need is to be Redeemed, and Christ at the Cross of Calvary paid the ultimate price for my sins, and yours. We are not our own, but have been bought with a price, the precious blood of the LAMB. • We need to lay claim to this thing! Jesus is MY REDEEMER! It is personal !!!

  10. REVIEW • VIII. Man due to his sin, was separated from his creator. Man’s need was for RECONCILIATION. Again we have been brought near by the Cross. Christ has provided the reconciliation to God, having received the wrath of God for our sin, we need only to understand and have FAITH in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. We are reconciled to God, and have the message of Reconciliation for the world to hear.

  11. REVIEW • IX. Man’s need as it were was for Salvation. WE are in desperate need for someone to intervene, on our behalf. There is nothing you or I can do to save ourselves. We needed a Savior, and have one in the man of the Cross. Paul said, “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst”. We like Paul need a Savior!

  12. We are SPECIAL TO GOD • God loved us so much that he gave his only son, to die, so we could live and have a relationship with him. We need to have total trust, reliance, and confidence in the finished work of the Cross of my Lord. He has furnished everything we need, we must have FAITH: TOTAL TRUST AND CONFIDANCE IN THE FINISHED WORK OF GOD AT THE CROSS.

  13. WE ARE SPECIAL TO GOD 1. We are free from SIN 2. We are free from SINS Penalty • WE have been imputed with the Holiness of God. • Isn’t that what the Bible calls GOOD NEWS !! 5. WE are Sanctified, Set apart from the world from which we came. To do the work of God.

  14. The NEW BIRTH • We learned that the new birth was essential and the obedience required to enter the kingdom of God. We learned that it is our death, and resurrection to a new life “IN CHRIST”. This is not a work, but a FAITH response to the Gospel of Christ. It is the required obedience of the Gospel. See examples of this in the book of Acts.
