William Shakespeare • Although William Shakespeare’s birthdate is unknown, he was baptized on 26 April 1564. • He has written 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and two long narrative poems. • Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18 and had three children; Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. • Shakespeare was a well-known playwright of his time but his work wasn’t fully accredited until the 19th century. • Shakespeare’s plays are still performed all around the world today and are very popular with the audience.

  3. Joanne Katherine Rowling • Joanne Katherine Rowling was born on July, 31 1965 in Yate, South Gloucestershire, England. • Also known as J.K. Rowling and Robert Galbraith by her fans, she is the world renowned author of the Harry Potter series. • In order to get young boys to read her books as well, she used the pen name J.K. Rowling. • Her books have sold 400 million copies worldwide and they have also been the basis for 8 films which are the highest grossing films in history. • Rowling has lost her billionaire status because of the hundreds of millions of dollars that she has donated to charity.

  4. J.R.R. Tolkien • John Ronald ReuelTolkien was born on January 3, 1892. • He is most famous for writing the Lord of the Rings series and the prequel to the series, The Hobbit. • J.R.R. Tolkien married Edith Mary Brattat St. Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, Warwick, on 22 March 1916. • The couple had 4 children; John Francis, Michael Hilary, Christopher John, and Priscilla Anne. • Tolkien died on September 2, 1973.

Stephen King • Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 in Portland, Maine. • His most notable works are Carrie, The Stand, and The Dark Tower. • King has won many awards including Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards, and British Fantasy Society Awards. • Stephen King married Tabitha Spruce, a fellow student at the University of Maine in 1971. • The couple had 3 kids; Naomi King, Joe King, Owen King.

John Green • John Green was born on August 24, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana. • Green is one of the best YA novelists of his time and has written many great books. • His first novel, Looking for Alaska, won the Printz Award in 2006. • Green is also a YouTube vlogger and vlogs regularly with his brother Hank Green. • Green is married to Sarah Green and the couple have two children; Henry Green and Alice Green.
