Training Situation One of the Social Studies teachers is taking the students in all three of his/her US History sections on a field trip to a local heritage museum. The school data manager wants to know how to search for and select the students in those three sections, and how to mark their meeting attendance as “school excused” for the following day. In addition, the data manager wants to print a list of those students, with their home phone numbers, parents’ names and daytime phone numbers, and medical alert information.

Training Delivery • One-on-one Situation – Newly hired data manager is seeking assistance from “Help Desk” • Providing telephone and computer support • Utilizing VNC or Quick Screen Share • Group Situation – Trainer is providing professional development and modeling sequential steps while providing hands-on practice for trainees • Providing face-to-face training • Utilizing Smartboard or projector in Computer Lab

It requires no registration and is completely free. There’s nothing to install (assuming you have Java) and it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It even lets you remotely control mouse and keyboard! Currently in Beta. • UltraVNC – http://www.uvnc.com/ • RealVNC – http://www.realvnc.com/ RealVNC and UltraVNC are powerful, easy to use software that provides remote access and displays the screen of another computer (via internet or network) on your own screen. The program allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely. It means that you can work on a remote computer, as if you were sitting in front of it, right from your current location.
