  3. Capacity at the National level The situation will vary from country to country However persons with the following skills are required: • MIS • Data entry • Research methodology and formal statistical training • Report preparation • Ability to address qualitative aspect of data

  4. Capacity cont. • It may be necessary to import skills e.g. in TCI. Where skills are imported care must be taken to ensure cultural relevance • Advocacy Skills • Statistical analysis, coordination skills • Form Regional Associations of Gender Affairs Agencies with the capacity to lobby, advocate, train and attract funding to move the process.

  5. Important functions of Central Registry • Repository for research on Gender-based violence • Generate Reports based on the reporting periods established. • Report must be able to inform decision- making • Constant improvement in the areas covered

  6. Online central registry • An online central registry is for future consideration • There are a number that must be in place before that can be done such as ensuring security and confidence in data.

  7. Appropriate Department for establishment of a Central Registry • Statistics Department • Gender Departments responsible for collecting data and passing it on to Statistics Department
