Model Exchange and Naming -- Activity • 61970-452 Standard • New draft of 61970-452 standard has been created. (K. Hunter) • 61970-452 Rev 4 (May 4, 2007) • Various edits and update for CIM 11. • Important new classes: • ModelAuthority • ModelAuthoritySet • Extended use case discussion added as Appendix A. (J. Britton) • Promotion of model authority concepts • European User Group May 2007 • NERC DEWG Meeting, Sept 2007 • General presentations (PES Atlanta, IEEE Tampa, Utility Integration Houston, …) • Interop 10 (Sept, 2007) • CIM version finalized for test (L. Osterlund) • Organization (M. Goodrich) • Did not test model authorities – expected next year. • Related Standards • CIM for Planning • EPRI Project • Planning & Operating Model Exchange • Wg13 NWIPs • EMS Model Update • Steady State Solution • Active CIM Model Exchange Projects • WECC • ERCOT
Breakout Discussion Topics • Review of Model Exchange Appendix A Use Cases • NERC DEWG Meeting Report • Europe Review • UCTE Day-Ahead Model Exchange Process • Planning • Summary of EPRI CIM for Planning project activity • MMWG Procedure for Eastern Interconnect • Active Projects • WECC and ERCOT • Model acquisition from members • EMS model update • Model availability to members • Planning
Meeting Report • Presented “Transmission Model Exchange” powerpoint summarizing the CIM model authority based exchange processes. • The presentation will be posted on the CIM User Group website. • Discussion included relevance to ERCOT, WECC and Eastern Interconnect situations. • Demaree discussed recent presentation to the NERC DEWG (Data Exchange Working Group). • We need to establish an ongoing relationship between DEWG and the Model Exchange WG. • DEWG has an interest in seeing that the Interop tests become more realistic: • Real models. • More complete coverage of possible modeling patterns. • Testing that relates to real usage. • DEWG is interested in model change notification system. • Relationship between state estimation quality and model quality was discussed. State estimation residuals provide important feedback about modeling accuracy. • Action: Britton/Ortleib will follow up with DEWG to continue liaison.
