  2. Paul Cezanne was born in ___________ on Jan. 19, 1839. His father was a successful _________and wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. Paul attended Law school in his early 20’s.   3. Art Paul decided to move to Paris and enrolled in an _____ school. He soon discovered that he was not as technically skilled in drawing as the other students. He stuck with it however, and found other successful artists that helped him develop his techniques. He perfected his techniques by painting “Montagne Sainte Victoire” many times over the earlier parts of his life.

ASSIGNMENT: • Using a viewfinder, look around the still life to find an interesting composition that includes 4-6 objects that you would like to draw. • Create a thumbnail sketch of your objects in your sketchbook. • Move around the still life and create a minimum of three additional thumbnail drawings to determine your final spot in the classroom. • Decide on the one composition you enjoy most and begin drawing the objects on the larger paper provided. • Using soft pastel, blend and match the values of the objects and shade them accurately. You are allowed to use colored charcoal paper. • Clean up smudges and spray-fix your work.
