  2. Is this an ecosystem??? Talk with your elbow partner about it and explain why or why not.

  3. So what makes up an ecosystem • Ecosystem – is all the organisms living in an area together with their physical environment • Ex: oak forest, coral reef and yes a vacant lot • Ecosystems are all interconnected they are not isolated from each other and do not have clear boundaries

Components of an ecosystem • Biotic and Abiotic factors • Living and nonliving factors • Organism: • Is an individual thing of that species • Population: • Is a group of the same species that live in the same place • Community: • A group of various species living in the same place. • Habitat: • A place where an organism lives

  6. Abiotic or biotic • Use your white boards with your elbow partner to place these things into the correct category make a table like this on your white board Biotic Abiotic

  9. My ECOsystem • On a sheet of paper: • Work with your table partner to create the ecosystem that youlive in. with you being the organism • Show me when finished be sure to include all things that are in your community
