Now Try it out… In your groups, write a headline and byline for the following newspaper pictures in the envelope that Mr. Papple handed out to you at the beginning of the lesson.
Lead Paragraph • This paragraph is geared to get the reader’s attention and hook them into make them want to read on. • It focuses on who, what, when, where, why and how. • In your groups, take out the Lead Paragraphs from the articles that Mr. Papple gave you at the beginning of class. • Read through the articles and highlight the 5W’s and 1H.
Now you try… • In your groups, choose one of the pictures from the selection • Write a catchy headline • Write a Lead Paragraph that will hook the reader into wanting to read the article (Remember to include the 5W’s and 1H)
