  2. History of P2Rx: Created in 1997 by the EPA to develop a seamless national network of accessible, high quality P2 information that promotes waste reduction throughout the US.

Benefits of P2Rx: • Creation of an channel that collects information from the state and local levels and disseminates it nationally • Reduction of duplication in preparing P2 materials • Improved information distribution and collaboration among local, state and federal agencies • Promotion of standardized formats to facilitate information exchange

P2Rx Accomplishments: • A web site that serves as a portal to the centers (www.p2rx.org) • A process that can engage other information centers funded by USEPA and other agencies • A voluntary standard for measuring activity within the regional P2 information centers • Topic Hubs to organize and house P2 sector/topic information • A Programs Database to serve as a directory of people and programs with P2 expertise
