  1. Proposed: P2Rx Centers InitiateNational “Sector” Focuses Some ideas to consider…

  2. P2Rx Core Competencies • Identify P2 Information  Add Value  Get it out • Networking

  3. Historical P2Rx Approach • Centers serve region • Regional roundtables • Regional listservs • Regional training • Regional information collection – sector resources, news, calendar, programs directory • Topic Hubs have been written in response to regional work, shared nationally • Centers serve nation • Information published on World-wide-web • Some national listservs

  4. Examples of Special Cases • Tribal P2 Website Partners include tribes across many regions, NPPR workgroup • P2 Tech, Mercury, and P2 Metrics listservs Members span across the country • WRRC “P2 Pays” library Houses collections from several regions • P2 News Regional news is aggregated and distributed as national news via many outlets • Webinars Training for regional needs; offered nationally

  5. Proposed: Switch to a few national topics and collaborations • Topics would coincide with EPA P2 priorities (very broad) • Topics would likely need to have regional support • Not all centers would have to be in charge of a topic – some centers could contribute to P2Rx in a different way • News aggregators • Web masters • Library • Content maintenance? • Others?

  6. What Could Delivery Be? • Listservs (possibly conference calls) • Training (webinars) for TAPs or their clients • Topic Hub • Sector Resources • News/Calendar • Programs Directory • P2 Results aggregated for that sector • Possibly • Wiki • Blog

  7. How Will We Get Partners? • Programs in our own region • Work with other centers to identify programs from their regions • NPPR workgroup • Trade associations • OECA Compliance Assistance Center? • Others?

  8. What’s in it for them? • Get “better” information from peers • Aggregate measures across the country for a specific sector – tell the story • Recognition • Peer group across the country • Training • Other things?

  9. What are our barriers? • Balancing with regional work • Still need match, probably from region • Lack of personal relationship with programs across the country • Decreased capacity of Centers

  10. Why should we do this? • Potentially allows Centers to focus on one sector, rather than many • Increases P2Rx and Center visibility, brings more traffic to website

  11. Potential Partners • State and Local P2 Programs • Regional P2 Roundtables • National Pollution Prevention Roundtable • EPA Regional P2 Coordinators (10 Regions) • HQ Pollution Prevention Division • OECA Compliance Assistance Centers • SBEAP programs • SBDCs with environmental focus

  12. How can we respond more quickly, be more interactive? • Listserv with archives – already doing this • Blog – needs fresh content • Wiki – depends upon editors – not necessarily at Centers • Webinars – questions have to be e-mailed in, no record • Crowd Sourcing – partners help supply and rank information

  13. Wiki is a quick way to post content

  14. Partners can edit articles Could we engage partners plus Center staff to keep content up-to-date?
