What are the FMSP and KDD? The Famers Market Support Program (FMSP) and Kentucky Double Dollars Program (KDD) work together to: • increase sales and income to Kentucky farmers, • leverage federal food and nutrition program funds, • increase access to fresh, healthy local food. The Farmers Market Support Program provides Kentucky’s farmers markets with the tools, resources, and networking to create a profitable market outlet for farmers and help create market sustainability. The Kentucky Double Dollar Program incentivizes the purchase of Kentucky produced fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, and dairy by SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP participants. .

2017 – 2018 Impacts • 1,015 farmers from 89 counties • 439 new farmers participating in FMSP markets during 2018 • 69 socially disadvantaged farmers participated in FMSP markets during 2018 • 353% increase in number of farmers participating in the program • 72% increase in number of markets with formalized boards. • 78% increase in number of paid market manager positions. • 175% increase in number of markets participating in FMSP with less than 3 years of operating experience.
