PSS Budget Changes • Transfer $68,667 from state to federal salaries • PSS cut $74,500 • RCTF current expense $5836 • State teaching current expense $1520 • Reduce fac. line to assist. prof. level $22,228 • Close staff position (partial) $13,863 • Close staff position $31,058
Wethington Awards • The criteria for the selection of nominees must include, at a minimum, evidence of scholarly productivity and excellence such as: • number of grants submitted and funded as PI or co-PI; • percent of salary funded from grants; • refereed publications and quality of journals; • training of graduate students or postdoctoral fellows; • regional or national awards; • patents or commercialization activity. • Each unit will develop their own criteria for the selection of faculty and the algorithm for recommending the award amount.

What to do for July 2010? • What about no departmental allowances to individuals so the money can be pooled and used for other purposes such as graduate student support, equipment purchase, maintenance, etc? • or Keep departmental allowances and: • Allocate them in a manner similar to July 2009 • Allocate an equal amount to each recipient, this would have been $1600 July 2009 • Allocate a minimal amount to each recipient and allocate the rest based on a reward structure such as co-author with graduate student 1st authorship, or per GenEd course created and taught, or per course taught with a distance education component, etc.
