Value for Producers • Through working with GNP, the producer can market his grain without added costs such as: • Terminal elevation • Railway administrative costs • In some cases, additional transportation costs from farm to elevator • Other benefits for producers: • Terminal Rebate of $2.00/MT, equivalent of approximately $180/car • Resources provided by GNP to eliminate overloaded / imbalanced cars • Monitoring shipment progress to avoid potential delays and/or demurrage problems
Car Ordering Process • Producer groups will submit railcar requests to GNP at least two weeks prior to loading. • GNP will submit producer car requests to the CGC for processing. This will include a non refundable fee of $20 per car. • GNP will request terminal authorization for non board shipments.
Confirmation of Orders • The CGC will confirm car orders. • GNP will advise the producer groups of confirmed car orders and will obtain spot dates and loading times from the railway.
Car Billing • Producer groups will supply loaded railcar information to GNP so cars can be properly billed and released via the internet. Before billing GNP will confirm correct weights have been applied to the car and that all necessary identification tags were used. • If applicable, bulkhead unload requests will be submitted to the CGC. • Loaded railcar information will then be reported to the CGC, CWB and the receiving terminal. • Loaded railcars will be monitored by GNP until unloading occurs.
Car Unloads • CGC unload information for producer cars will be supplied to the shipper of the producer car(s) and to the GNP partner terminal who will be issuing the cash ticket. • If the producer disputes the unload information, he can proceed with a re inspection request directly to the CGC. • Once GNP has received payment for terminal diversion premiums, a rebate will be issued to the producer.
