  8. Outcome of Pilot site • 7 registered users • 520 joint service users • 100% of NHS numbers gained • 127 gave consent (25%) • 17 refused consent (3%) • Service information accessed • Weekly referrals made to SSD

  9. What went well • Good response to consent process • Acceptance by service users as a good delivery method • Ability to see Service user details • Capturing SSD referrals on the Vision system • Improved knowledge of each other’s business

  11. Problems • Rolling out to less IT literate staff • Poor ratio of PCs for District Nurse staff • New PCT but no IT Lead • Lack of time • Used to the phone

  12. Next Stage • Rolling out to other sites • Connecting into EMIS/Vision • Integration into SSD client index • Auto notifications • Other LA’s interested • ACPC Guidance

  13. 1st Deliverable Security • Extranet proved to be secure and reliable • User access process has worked well • Penetration testing successful • Adding Security questions to JET

  14. Future Security? • Access via NHSNET nww.JET.nhs.uk • Digital certificates • PKI encryption • Specific IP address access

  15. 2nd Deliverable Method of Data Sharing • Available 24/7 • Easy to Use interface • Dataset highly useful to health partners • Flexible enough to cope with a changing environment e.g. SAP • Does not require networking e.g. two networks at Richford Gate

  16. Extending the JET Concept • Multi Agency Child Protection Information • Accident & Emergency • Providers • Single Assessment Process • Service User access • Hosting

  17. 3rd Deliverable Consent and Confidentiality • Concern about the consent process due to Caldicott • Developed consent process in line with this • Clients can refuse/withdraw consent at any time • Temporary access to client when consent form has been completed at point of contact • Consent Form • Pamphlet • JET ensures DP/Caldicott compliance Overall 20% of consents returned with an initial mailshot

  19. Infrastructure Barriers • Difficulty in getting NHS numbers • Need access to GP details for all service users for processing of referrals • Difficulty of getting access to the tracing systems to add NHS numbers as we add new clients

  20. DOH Issues - Funding • Capital poor…revenue totally skint! • Funding only received (in part) Jan 2002. Not able to carry forward. • Make decision earlier (Jan - March). Leaves 12 months for project

  22. DOH Issues • Demonstrators are “nice”, Pathfinders are “sexy and important” • Cross links between ODPM(DTLR)/DOH “For every action there is an equal and opposite government program”
