Phase 1 • Elk Grove Unified School District First Year Substitute Teacher Training Course • Name / Title of Course • Description of Course • Target Audience • Delivery Modality • Goals This course is designated to training first year substitute teachers to handle and complete daily classroom procedures and engage with students in the classroom. Hired Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teachers. Live in person, Objective led format. • Goal: Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teacher training course participants will be able to handle daily procedures and emergencies with students in various classroom settings. • Goal: Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teacher training course participants will be able to engage with students in various classroom settings.
Phase 2 Part 1 • Learning Objectives • Objective # 1.1: Given a classroom of students, participants of the Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teacher training course will be able to create and implement an effective lesson plan in 15 minutes. • Objective # 1.2: Given an attendance sheet and a classroom of students participants of the Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teacher training course will be able to identify and document attendance with 80% accuracy and within 10 minutes. • Objective #1.3: Given three scenarios of a real life classroom incidents, participants of the Elk Grove Unified School District first year substitute teacher training course will be able to find the appropriate solution with 75 percent accuracy.

Phase 3 Part 2 Formative Assessments • 10 minutes of content followed by 2 minutes of questions and reflection. • Constructedresponse questions • Direct Testing • Observation

Criteria Of Success Evaluation Instruments Evaluation Overview An evaluation instrument must be create to determine a participants capability to • Locate technology, and safety procedures. • Engage and speak with others. • Speak in front of groups of people. • Demonstrate likes, dislikes, opinions of course. Data gathered in evaluations will be reviewed by the human resources trainer/manager. All changes will be approved by Pam Hererra.
