V1 + V2 • Vi – Dunsinane (King Macbeth’s castle) • - Doctor and maid discuss Lady M’s behavior • - Sleepwalking Lady M – “Out, damned spot!” • - She reveals truths to Dr. and maid • Vii – countryside near Dunsinane • - Lennox and others reveal armies from England are marching to overthrow Macbeth

  3. 3 + 4 • Viii – Dunsinane • - Macbeth finds out 1) men are deserting him and 2) the English force is near • - Macbeth tells Dr. to cure Lady M • - Calls for his armor • Viv – Birnum Wood • - Malcolm, Old Siward, Young Siward, Macduff, Lennox, Ross!, and others • - 1. What preparations do they make for the attack on Dunsinane?

  4. 5 + 6 • Vv – Dunsinane • - Lady M dies • - 2. Summarize Macbeth’s soliloquy that begins, “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow…” • - Messenger brings bad news for Macbeth 3. What is it? • Vvi – Castle attack • - Macbeth kills young Siward 4. According to Macbeth, why was Young Siward - - no threat to him? • - Battle goes against Macbeth
