Leaves No Corrosive Residue Reduces the Amount of Pressure Required for Water-Scrubbing Ensuring No Damage to Runway Surfaces, Paints, or Joints Easy Equipment Clean Up : No Pre-Treatment (Oiling) of Cleaning Equipment required HURRISAFE 8035 RUBBER REMOVER ADDED BENEFITS:

  8. HURRISAFE was formulated to dissolve rubber build up layer by layer. As Hurrisafe penetrates beneath the soil, other greases, oils and contaminants attached to the rubber buildup are also removed during this cleaning process. How HURRISAFE Works

  9. SUBSTRATE WITH LAYERS OF CONTAMINATES

  10. HURRISAFE PENETRATES THROUGH THE LAYERS OF CONTAMINATES

  11. HURRISAFE Gets Underneath And Breaks Down Contaminants Into Particles That Are Pulled Away

  12. After Applying Hurrisafe 8035 The Rubber Residue Begins To Dissolve

  13. During Scrubbing Hurrisafe 8035 Runway Rubber Removal Dissolves the Carbonized Rubber Residue

  14. Hurrisafe Emulsifies the Dissolved Contaminants For Faster Rinsing

  15. Applications and Process : Apply Hurrisafe 8035

  16. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED ON HAND • Applicator Vehicle/Vacuum Truck, with a 440 gallon holding tank and pressurized front bumper mounted spray system and a re-genitive air sweeper with a 9.6 cubic yard collection hopper. equipped with two 44” diameter steel digger brooms that are hydraulically driven and free floating. • Sweepers with 48-foot Wire Brushes or Combination Nylon and Wire Brooms. • Scrubber Water Truck with a 6000 gallon water tank, high pressure, high volume water pumps capable of 12” to 6’ wide paths • Water Truck for Rinsing • Vacuum Truck or Hi-Lite’s Applicator Vacuum Truck

  17. RUNWAY PREPARATION & APPLICATION • Before application, all equipment should assemble on the runway • Sweep the entire area to be cleaned to pick up any loose debris on the runway surface. • If weather conditions are hot and sunny, spray down surface to be cleaned with water, this cools down the surface. • The sweepers should make a full pass, with the brushes in high speed, in the opposite direction of where the airplanes land, to score the surface of the rubber prior to applying the Hurrisafe.

  18. STEP 1: APPLY HURRISAFE 8035 TO SURFACE • Run the applicator truck with the spray jets set at 50 psi over the rubber surface to apply Hurrisafe to the Runway. • Continue until the Runway is completely saturated. • Using the Applicator/Vacuum truck run the length of the area to be cleaned, spraying the chemical solution and using the steel digger broom to work the chemical into the rubber and begin the chemical reaction.

  19. STEP 1: APPLYING HURRISAFE 8035

  20. STEP 2: DWELL TIME • Allow Hurrisafe 8035 to stand on the runway surface only long enough to allow the applicator/vacuum truck time to complete a pass down the length of the runway area to be cleaned. • This allows the Hurrisafe 8035 time to penetrate the rubber build up, and the applicator/vacuum truck to space itself optimally ahead of the scrubber water truck. • The solution will start to turn a dark color as the rubber begins to dissolve.

  21. Step 3: Scrubbing Surface With Brooms: • Run Sweepers high speed over the entire runway surface. • Run Sweepers down one side of center with brooms at 45% angle sweeping solution back to center crown. • Make wide-turn at end of the runway and continue back directing the cleaner to the center crown.

  22. Step 3: Scrubbing Surface

  23. Step 3: Scrubbing Surface

  24. Step 3: Scrubbing Surface

  25. STEP 3: Scrub Surfaces: Using Chemical & Water-Scrubbing Using Broom Method

  26. STEP 3: WATER-SCRUBBING WITH HURRISAFE 8035 • After Hurrisafe 8035 has begun to dissolve the rubber, begin on centerline pressure washing the treated area. • The pressure washer uses a 4 foot pass, rotating spray bars and approximately 40 gallons of water per minute. • For rubber removal, minimal pressure is used, 17,000 psi with no orifice jets larger than .014 inch and pressures never exceeding 20,000 psi, ensuring no damage to runway surfaces, paint, or joints. • This water scrubber is used instead of brooms as it has the ability to clean the rubber from the crevices and grooves in the runway • Because the rubber has been softened by the chemical, the scrubber water truck is able to go at minimum of 50 ft. per minute, thus ensuring a minimal rubber removal of 15,000 square feet per hour.

  27. STEP 3: WATER-SCRUBBING WITH HURRISAFE 8035 . The pressure washer uses a 4 foot pass, rotating spray bars and approximately 40 gallons of water per minute

  28. Step 4: Rinsing • Start rinsing in the center using a water truck followed by a sweeper. • Apply water at full pressure. The sweepers, behind the water truck, should run the brushes at a high speed with the brushes angled toward the edge to force the water to the side. • Increase radius of laps working rinse water towards the edge by rotating the brush heads at a 45% angle • Continue until rinsing is completed. • After a few passes cease Rinse Application and return to the beginning center line to vacuum, preventing any debris and runoff from reaching the adjacent soil or turf areas.

  29. Step 4: Rinsing

  30. Step 4: Rinsing

  31. Step 5: Vacuum • Run the runway vacuum sweeper / applicator vacuum truck directly behind the rinse trucks to vacuum up all rinsed solution from the cleaning application. • Transfer the used cleaning solution from the vacuum holding tank to drums to await disposition from the local sewer authority for disposal procedures. • The Hi-Lite applicator/vacuum truck is equipped with a hopper drain system which allows the draining of extra runoff water when full into any approved wastewater treatment system drain

  32. Step 6: Equipment Clean-Up • After the runway cleaning process is completed, the equipment surfaces will have a lot of overspray from the splash back of the cleaner and the dissolved rubber in the cleaner. • Using a pressure washer or a hose with strong pressure, rinse off and remove any suds, dissolved rubber and residue from the equipment and brushes.

  33. Step 6: Equipment Clean-Up • Wash the runway cleaning equipment immediately after use. • The residue still contains active Hurrisafe cleaner which makes it easy to rinse off the residue that is on the surface. • Do not allow the equipment to return to the garage and sit without rinsing off.

  34. Step 6: Equipment Clean-Up Before After
