2. Status of the « For a NPSS Member Roster » Project by Erik Heijne, J L Leray and Patrick Le Dû • This mightbe a generalneed of NPSS… • NPSS used to print a YearBook Directory ituntil ~mid 2000 • Personal Archives stillcontainsYearBookcirca 1973 • …and a specialneed of Transnational (R8-R9-R10) Membership • One mission of IEEE is « Networking the World » • It begins in Regions, Sections, and concerns NPSS because of technicalinterests of Members by Erik Heijne, J L Leray and Patrick Le Dû
Roster project Limits and liabilities of having a public list • Legalsafeguards in the USA (Country of IEEE incorporation / NY) as well as in Members’ various countries • Deontology • Common sense • don’tfacilitate hacking, identity usurpation, spamming, all plagueshavingproliferated the last decade Important remarkfrom TNC and AdCOM discussions • A printedlist, posted and delivered to a givenperson, transfers the responsability of use to thisperson Last AdCOM - Advicesfrom the president A PRINTED LIST BY MAIL UPON REQUEST to members in good standing
Roster Project / Further work TNC proposition • Build a mock-up and a statement of use for next AdCOM Meeting • Erik Heijne, TNC past president and founder, is volunteer to achieve this project • Name, country, city, membership grade. In 1980 and 1984, CIE was admitted as a full member in the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) and a full member in the Union Radio-ScientifiqueInternationale (URSI), respectively • PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES • The following professional societies are active; • Semiconductor and Integration Technology • ....... • 21. Nuclear-Electronics and Nuclear-Detection Technology Society • …… Dear Jean-Luc, and all other friends, I can not join the meeting this time. But I can join the suggested phone meeting. I have been recently re-elected as a committee member of the Nuclear Electronics and Nuclear Detection Society (NEDS, a Chinese national Society under China Electronics Institute). I have proposed an formal collaboration between our two Societies and I got positive response, also we will have a discussion recently. I have arranged in May 2008 in Beijing a meeting of CANPS delegates (Jean-Pierre Martin, Patrick Le Du and Macheline Martine) with the EX-chairman of NEDS, Dr. Weiguo Li, during the preparation of RT09, and the RT09 was successfully organized with strong support from NEDS. Do you have any idea or suggestion for me , how we can go further collaboration between NPSS and NEDS ? I appreciate any suggestion from any of you. Thanks in advance, Zhen-An *********************************************** Zhen-An LIU Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese academy of sciences, 19B YuQuan Road, Shijingshan Distr. 100049 Beijing Thanks to Zhen An for his very promizing proposition.
