Myth • While his mother was still pregnant with him, his sister had a vision that the child would bring ruin to the city • A soothsayer said the dream meant the child would cause the destruction of Troy. Priam gave Paris to a slave and ordered him to kill the child • A Shepherd took him in and raised him • Messengers came and took Paris’s favorite bull as a prize • Paris’s sister recognized him • Went into the Trojan war
