Software Quality Assurance Plan CIS565 Final Project Jacob Tanana December 20, 1999
What is an SQAP? • A standard to provide uniform, minimum acceptable requirements for preparation and content of Software Quality Assurance Plan • IEEE 730-1998
Applications of SQAP • Mainly used for the development and maintenance of critical real time software • A subset of the standard is useful for noncritical real time software
Final Project SQAP • Model year 2002 Toyota Camry Body ECU • Team is controlled decentralized (CD) • 3 S/W, 3 H/W engineers, 1 project manager • Incremental development model • Not critical real time system • No separate SQA department • Many different reviews (work product, progress, management, product release)
Conclusion • Very useful when applying the other software related IEEE specs since they all relate to one another. • SQAP is complex document and the overhead in creating this document may out weigh its value.
