Un día vi 10.000 elefantes One day, I saw 10,000 elephants SYNOPSIS Angono Mba is a Guinean that works as a porter for Spanish film director Manuel Hernández Sanjuán who carries out a documentary expedition from 1944 to 1946 in Spanish colonial Africa. From the peculiar relationship that develops between them, the ways they behave regarding everything they come into contact with and the contradictory ways in which they express their feelings, arises One Day, I Saw 10,000 Elephants, a story about the fascination of Africa, the past and memories. A film based on a true story and that develops from those fictions that we create when we reconstruct our memories. A modern film that tackles the past as a place to reflect on the present. A tale that, from the frontiers of documentaries and animation, will show us the contradictions we face when we discover the magic of others. THE PROJECT One day I saw 10,000 elephants comes to Tarifa in a very advanced stage of development. Available dossier in Spanish includes script, story board, budget, financial plan, etc. http://www.10000elefantes.com/ This moving story will be made of archive footage, animation and the texts written by novelist Juan Tomás Ávila Laurel. Un día vi 10.000 elefantes One day, I saw 10,000 elephants BIOGRAPHY A journalist and documentalist born in 1968, Pere Ortín spent ten years working at Spanish Television (RTVE) and at the daily La Vanguardia. He then produced and directed documentary films independently. For four years, he co-managed his own audiovisual production company, We Are Here Films. He is now working on a new artistic project, Bofa de Cara, with an international group of European, Latin-American and African creators. From Equatorial Guinea, Ramón Escono, alias “Jamón y Queso” (Ham & Cheese), 1977, is an illustrator that combats the multiple assassins of our intelligences, fighting them with a double-edged blade: pencil and paper. With them, he creates characters and stories that reflect his critical vision of society. As a cartoonist, he has won several prizes and international competitions, such as, for example, the “Regarde 9” competition at the International Festival of Comics in Angouleme (France) or the award garnered at Cocobulles, Ivory Coast, for his work on “Le Réveil d’Ayoko” (Ayoko’s Awakening).
