“We need Salvation Army research to hold us accountable as we share the facts of life, of faith and of hope…” (Commissioner Knaggs) Goals Share ideas for best practices; Identify and promote research and organized inquiry to evaluate the effectiveness of our activities and services; and Create a network to share victories, ideas, and challenges where we can provide practical support, resources sharing, and prayer.

Types of Presentations Case studies or “in-depth stories” of successful social service programs or practices serving individuals, families, and/or communities; Presentations from a historical perspective about a particular social service program, problem, or issue that will provide background, lessons learned, and applicability to the Army today; Evaluative studies or program evaluations incorporating data to demonstrate the effectiveness of a social service program, intervention, or practice strategy; Traditional social service research projects using quantitative and/or qualitative methods. Guidelines 45-minute presentation Draw on passion and experience of the presenter(s) Conversion into 1,000-word article for Caring Magazine Preview for the 2014 National Social Service Conference Register as delegates; responsible for expenses Incentive for early bird submission: Friday 4:30pm, May 24.
