Today’s Outcomes • Participants will explore the purpose of the Mini Lesson, the Read Aloud, the Seminar, and the Teach Share. • Participants will determine the role of teacher and students in the ML, the RA, the Seminar, and the TS based on the purpose of each. • Participants will analyze and identify structures and strategies within each of these instructional practices that encourage connectedness.

Try It Out… • With a partner, focus on the teaching during your mini lessons, read alouds, and seminar using stage 1 of the character unit document and one text (The Little Red Hen, Thank You Ma’am, or one of your choice). • Write 4-5 sequential teaching points aligned to the goals of the unit • Consider places in text to model and ask questions aligned to teaching points during the read aloud • Write 1-2 questions aligned to teaching points to center the seminar
