2. What will I learn on Getting Started in Health & Safety? The package is aimed at people who are looking for an introduction to good practice Health & Safety based on UK/EU standards. It explores 4 essential areas including [1] Our responsibilities [2] Day to day H&S practices [3] Emergency Procedures [4] H&S reporting and prevention. It will take approximately 4 hours to complete, but there is a wide range of valuable extra material available for optional further study.

3. The highly interactive format gives individual employees a very practical overview of key issues and responsibilities. It features a wide range of everyday situations which bring Health and Safety to life in many different settings!

4. Each section guides you through essential knowledge and how it applies in practice. You can use the menus and navigation buttons to move around – so you don’t have to work through the sections in a set order. You can also return to the course whenever you like while your license is active.

5. Practical activities, tasks and quizzes are included throughout to help you apply the learning. The system will keep a record of your previous responses which will automatically appear when you revisit the section, and you can check your answers against other people’s. You can also record key learning points and ideas in your personal action plan.

6. You can benefit from a wide range of background documentation in our Resource Centre, and follow the web-links in each section of the package for further information and advice. The Resource Centre can also be customised where organisations want to include their own policies and procedures.

7. The ‘Personal Profile’ feature allows you review summaries of your scores and responses and to change your details on the system. Everyone can download a Personalised Certificate after they have completed this package.

How to register • Getting started in Health & Safety is available for individuals and corporate groups on a 90-day licence basis. • The package is priced at £65+VAT for BIFM members or £85+VAT non-members.
