Saturation effect of MPPC

Saturation effect of MPPC. Introduction. MPPC output signal saturates because of its limited number of pixels. <Npix> = Nmax(1-exp(-Nph/Nmax)) Nmax : Number of MPPC pixels Nph : Number of photons Npix : Number of hit pixels We take into account this effect in the calorimeter simulation.

  2. Introduction • MPPC output signal saturates because of its limited number of pixels. • <Npix> = Nmax(1-exp(-Nph/Nmax)) • Nmax : Number of MPPC pixels • Nph : Number of photons • Npix : Number of hit pixels • We take into account this effect in the calorimeter simulation

  5. Assumptions • Nph(MIP)=5 or 10 • Nmax=400, 1600, and 6400 • Perfect MPPC is assumed: i.e. No cross-talk, no noise
