Living There • We chose to live in Prenzlauer Berg because not only is it only a nine minute commute from Prenzlauer Berg to Berlin, but it is a great place for students to live. • The countless pubs, restaurants, cafés, galleries, and little shops create a fun nightlife and day life.
Getting Around There • If you don’t have a car, taking the U-Bahn, or subway, is an option. A yearly cost for use of all three zones of Berlin is a little more than €88. • You can also take the S-Bahn, which moves faster than the U-Bahn, the ferries on the lake, buses, trams, or bikes, which are highly recommended in Berlin. • Driving is a little more complicated without the street signs.
Playing There • One fun thing to do is to visit Museum Island, which contains five of Germany’s top museums. • Another fun thing to do is to visit Grunewald, which is Berlin’s largest forested area. • A third thing to pass the time is to find the Berlin Wall. • Biking in Berlin is also a fun time. There are cyclist lanes and signs at traffic lights, and it is an easy way to get exercise and a personal tour of Berlin.
