Carolus Linnaeus - 1735 “Father of taxonomy” (how we classify organisms) Came up with binomial nomenclature (2 part naming system)
Robert Brown - 1831 Discovered the nucleus inside the cell
Matthias Schleiden - 1838 discovered that all plants are made of cells
Theodor Schwann - 1838 Figured out that all animals are made of cells
Rudolf Virchow - 1860 discovered that all cells come from other cells
Cell Theory Schleiden, Schwann and Virchow together made the cell theory
