  2. Problem In honor of Groundhog Day! A groundhog is also sometimes called a woodchuck. If Taliyah writes the letters in the word ‘woodchuck’ (W,O,O,D,C,H,U,C,K) on slips of paper, puts them in a bag, randomly chooses one, what is the probability that she selects a letter that is also in the word ‘groundhog’?

  3. Step 1 • I counted how many letters were in Groundhog and got 9, then I counted how many were in Woodchuck, I got 9.

  4. Step 2 • Then I counted how many letters were the same I got 5/9

  5. Final answer • Taliyah has a 5/9 chance of pulling a letter that is the same In woodchuck and groundhog
