  2. Background - Rethinking Disability Policy event last year - Collaborative network of DPOs and disabled people led campaigns wanting to defend our rights and freedoms under attack from austerity - Need to put forward what we are for as well as against – set out our vision

  3. Development - Collaborative network of Inclusion London, DPAC, ALLFIE, Equal Lives and hafcac - Consultation – huge input from organisations, campaigns and individuals across the country. - Final draft launched on the final day of the week of action

  4. Timing Time to influence ahead of council and general elections and get in local manifestosLabour looks set to announce they will abolish the bedroom tax at their party conference – this is one of our demands we have campaigned hard on (eg UN visit)Online campaigns like DPAC, WOW and Spartacus are looking at ways to work together with ‘experts’ to explore robust alternatives to welfare reformLots of protest action planned for the autumn from national demo on 29th September to Peoples Assembly day of civil disobedience on 5th November to national strike action Crucial time to unite around and push our demands!

  5. Going forwards - Lots of attention, been warmly welcomed by disabled people and our supporters - SIGN UP! - Lobbying and communications strategy to include working with local DPOS and groups to promote the manifesto at local level
