Changes on Campus • June 22, 1942- beginning of accelerated classes • A four year program can be completed in two years and 8 months • Year-round, six days a week • Normal course load is 21 hours • Other programs before the V-12 • V-5 Air force training division • Berea 145th Infantry • Increase in sports • Female basketball teams • Competitive male football and basketball teams
The V-12 Program • March 1943- “We need a miracle” -President Wright • March 17, 1943- Baldwin-Wallace College is one of eight Ohio institutions chosen as a V-12 school • April 2, 1943- Student examinations • July 1, 1943- Start of V- 12 Program • Nov. 30, 1945- End of V-12 Program

Diversity on Campus • 37 African-Americans in the V-12 • No WAVES or WAACS on campus (exception: yeoman Jacqueline Raison) • A small Japanese-American population on campus • “ 4-F’ers”
